Kidchella, a free Gold Coast festival for children, is back in Surfers Paradise on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 September 2026. Live DJs, a Ferris wheel, silent disco, street-style hoops, an Art Studio, skate zone, Glam Bar and beach rugby fill both days at the Surfers Paradise Sign from 10am to 4pm.
From Viscount, getting there can be part of the outing. Step onto the paved beachfront path beside the building and head north towards Cavill Avenue. The walk takes about 20 minutes, stays beside the beach and avoids the search for a park at the busiest end of Surfers Paradise.

The beachfront path is sealed and suits prams, scooters and children who would rather keep moving than wait for a bus. There is only the pathway and dunes between Viscount and the sand, so the morning starts at the beach before the festival has even opened.
If little legs are already tired, Florida Gardens G:link station is 500 metres from Viscount. The event organiser recommends taking the tram to Cavill Avenue. Parking near the event may be limited, which gives the walk or tram a clear advantage.

There is no ticketed session to build the day around. Arrive when the family is ready, then follow whichever activity wins first.
Children who want noise can start with the live DJ sets or silent disco. The skate zone supplies a different kind of movement, while the Art Studio and Glam Bar give smaller hands somewhere to pause. Street-style hoops and beach rugby take the action onto the sand. The Ferris wheel lifts the whole family above the precinct for a look along the coast.
With the programme running from 10am to 4pm on both Saturday and Sunday, there is no need to force every activity into one visit. A shorter first day and a return on Sunday may work better for young children than six straight hours in the precinct.
