The court days will be busy. What happens around them is easier to shape. From Tuesday 12 to Saturday 16 January 2027, the Mitre National Futsal Championships will bring young and open-age players from around Australia to the Gold Coast Sports and Leisure Centre in Carrara.
Viscount on the Beach is an absolute beachfront address on the Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach border, rather than a stay beside the venue. That is a deliberate choice for a group that wants the beach on the other side of the apartment, a full kitchen for the practical work, and two directions to walk when play has finished. Travel to Carrara should be arranged once match times and the team’s plan are confirmed.
An apartment that carries the week
Every Viscount apartment has two bathrooms, a full kitchen and its own washing machine and tumble dryer. The kitchen includes a full-size refrigerator, dishwasher, oven, stovetop, microwave, kettle and dining table. That gives a futsal family the ordinary but useful things: somewhere to make breakfast before leaving, cold drinks ready in the fridge, and a way to wash kit between sessions.
There are three apartment types. The Superior Three-Bedroom Ocean View sleeps six, while the two-bedroom apartments sleep four. Every apartment has an ocean-facing balcony, air conditioning, a separate living and dining area, and a view of the beach. Direct bookings can ask about bedding configuration, helpful when a family or group needs a different arrangement. The right choice still comes down to the people travelling, rather than trying to make a team fit one apartment.
Free on-site parking is one space per apartment and needs to be reserved. The clearance is 1.95 metres, worth checking before arriving in a larger vehicle.
The championship details so far
Football Australia has confirmed the dates and Carrara venue, with Football Queensland delivering the event in partnership with Experience Gold Coast. It is the second year of a three-year Gold Coast agreement for the national championships.
The 2027 divisions announced are U12, U13, U14, U15 and U16 Boys, Youth Men, Open Men, U13, U15 and U17 Girls, Youth Women, Open Women and Open AWD Mixed. Football Australia says the competition will showcase emerging talent from eight Member Federations.
The 2027 draw, session times, registrations and spectator information are not details to guess at months in advance. Follow the official championships news for those releases, then use them to settle transport and the length of stay.
A clear break between sessions
At the end of First Avenue, the beachfront pathway and dunes lead to the sand. The paved coastal path runs south towards Broadbeach and north towards Surfers Paradise, so a walk does not need another car trip. Central Broadbeach is about 15 minutes south on foot and Cavill Avenue about 20 minutes north. Both give a group options for a meal out, while the apartment keeps a quieter dinner possible too.
Back at the building, the outdoor pool is heated to 27°C year-round. The rooftop BBQ area looks out over the ocean, and the garden BBQ is a ground-level option for families. Strollers and board games are available, useful for a sibling who has had enough of watching matches.
Do the event check before locking in dates
The calendar is confirmed: 12 to 16 January 2027. The daily shape is not. Check the Football Australia announcement before committing to travel days, especially if the group is following more than one division.
