A very warm welcome to Viscount on the Beach.

Located on the cusp of Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach, Viscount on the Beach offers spacious, self-contained apartments set against a gorgeous Gold Coast backdrop, ideal for business and leisure travellers.

Each apartment is individually owned and decorated, with its own character. Please treat your accommodation with the same respect and care as you would your own home, so future guests can enjoy a comfortable stay too.

This guide covers services and facilities within the accommodation, plus local information for the Gold Coast and South East Queensland.

If you are departing outside office hours, please settle your account the day prior. Mastercard and Visa are accepted. Cheques are not accepted. All transactions must be handled during office hours.

Management reserves the right to enter your apartment for cleaning, maintenance and inspection.

Keys

Your key is used for the lift, main entrance and car park. It also gives access to your apartment, the beach gate, rooftop toilets, fire-stairs entry from the ground floor, your floor only, and the electrical cupboard for your apartment at the apartment foyer entry.

Fire evacuation

A fire evacuation plan is located on the back of your apartment door. Please familiarise yourself with the nearest fire exit.

  • If the fire alarm or automatic evacuation system sounds, make your way to the nearest fire exit.
  • Close the apartment door firmly behind you once all occupants have vacated.
  • Leave all bags in your room.
  • Do not run and do not use the lifts.
  • Do not telephone Reception, as phone lines may be required for emergency calls.
  • Proceed to the assembly area at the front entrance of the building and await instruction from Fire Services or a Viscount on the Beach team member.
  • Do not re-enter the building unless advised by the Fire Brigade or a Viscount on the Beach team member.

Animals

No animals of any kind are permitted in the complex without prior Body Corporate approval. Guests who bring animals into the complex may be evicted without the right to a refund.

As per the Guide Dogs Act 1972, section 5, guide dogs or companion dogs are permitted subject to prior approval by management and Body Corporate. Proof of registration will be requested.

An extra cleaning fee may be included in your tariff and will be agreed when making your booking.

Children

Parents are asked to supervise their children so all guests can enjoy a pleasant holiday. Please ensure signs are followed. Damage caused by children becomes the parent’s expense.

Persons found vandalising or damaging resort property or equipment will be required to pay all restitution costs and may be asked to vacate the resort. Children must be escorted in the lift.

Smoking

The entire property is non-smoking, including apartments, balconies and common areas. If the smoke detector is activated, a Fire Brigade levy fee applies.

Visitors

Please ensure visitors know your apartment number if they wish to call you outside office hours.

For non-urgent matters, contact the on-site manager between 9.00am and 5.00pm Monday to Friday on 07 5538 7222.

Apartment

Apartment use, supplies, housekeeping, rubbish, breakages and maintenance.

Air conditioning

Use the remote control to adjust the temperature. During November to April, use the dry setting at 22. In winter, set it to 24. Always keep doors and windows closed while the air conditioning is running.

Please turn the air conditioning off when you are not in the apartment to conserve energy.

Kitchen

All apartments have fully equipped kitchens with fridge, ceramic cooktop, oven and dishwasher. Please contact reception if any of these items are faulty.

Do not leave cooking unattended. Always allow full ventilation by opening windows and doors when cooking. A Fire Brigade levy may apply if the fire alarm is activated.

Television

Every apartment television is different. If your apartment has Foxtel remotes, please use your Foxtel remote.

All smart TVs are configured to use the Freedom Wi-Fi.

If you have an issue, switch the modem off for at least 1 minute before plugging it back in, then allow time for it to reboot. If the problem persists, call Freedom while at your modem.

Laundry

All apartments are equipped with a washing machine and dryer. Most dryers are condenser dryers and require the water collection tray to be emptied after every cycle. Please empty your lint tray.

Washing

As per Body Corporate by-laws, washing is not permitted to be hung over balcony railings. Please use the clothes airer provided.

Cleaning

Please discuss long-stay servicing or additional cleaning requirements with reception. Charges may apply.

Rubbish

Please dispose of rubbish in the designated bins in the basement, behind the doors opposite car park 25. The alcohol bottle collection point is around the corner from the bin room.

As self-catering accommodation, guests are responsible for the general tidiness and cleanliness of the apartment during the stay. Daily servicing can be arranged at an additional cost if required.

Please leave the apartment tidy at departure, with all cutlery, crockery and utensils washed and returned to cupboards and drawers. Please ensure the air conditioning is turned off.

Amenities

Introductory quantities of hand wash, all-over wash, conditioner, laundry liquid, dishwashing liquid and toilet paper are provided to get you through the first couple of days only. Please purchase your own essentials.

Breakages & damage

The registered occupier of the apartment is liable for breakages or damage during the stay. Please report all breakages or damage to reception immediately.

Items in the apartment

Furniture, crockery, cutlery and other apartment items must remain in the apartment and must not be moved between apartments, even if friends or family are staying nearby. Missing items incur a replacement charge.

Maintenance

If any item in your apartment requires attention, please contact reception as soon as possible so it can be rectified.

Please consider other guests when using the pool area.

  • Children under 14 must be supervised at all times.
  • Alcohol, glass and food are not permitted around the pool area.
  • Pushing, running, jumping or rough play is prohibited.
  • Swimming while under the influence is not allowed.
  • No surfboards, boogie boards or large floatation toys are allowed in the pool.

Rooftop BBQ & sauna

The rooftop BBQs and entertainment area are available for shared use. Please leave the area as you found it and be courteous of others.

Public transport

Getting around the Gold Coast is easy with public transport. The live compendium notes it is 50c per ride and you can use your credit card to tap on and tap off.

  • G:Link Light Rail: Connects Broadbeach South to Helensvale, passing through Surfers Paradise, with stops near major attractions.
  • Buses: Translink buses run frequently along Old Burleigh Road. The 705 runs between Sea World and Pacific Fair, with connections at Pacific Fair and stops from the Gold Coast Highway.
