You can share an apartment without sharing every plan. One person wants all the racing. Another is happy with a shorter visit. The kids would like a swim, preferably soon. At Viscount, everyone has the beach outside and a place to meet for dinner.
That flexibility earned its keep during the rain-soaked 2026 Gold Coast 500, which has now ended. A week-plus run of persistent rain overlapped the 23 to 25 October event. It was hard work for the drivers and a wet outing for spectators, with plenty of adrenaline to keep the crowd interested. Returning to a dry apartment, feeding the kids and putting clothes through the wash were welcome parts of the day.
Agree on the people before the programme
Start with how the family wants to spend the trip. If a couple of people are keen on the whole race weekend, leave room for everyone else to enjoy First Avenue too. Some might join for a day and spend the rest of the stay on the beach or around Broadbeach.
The event’s future includes 2027 under the Gold Coast commitment announced by Supercars. There is no exact 2027 weekend to book around yet; keep an eye on the race calendar. The new programme will help decide which tickets each person actually wants.
Viscount’s apartments have either two or three bedrooms. All face the ocean, and each has two bathrooms, its own laundry and a kitchen with a full-size fridge. You can get breakfast into everyone before leaving and have food ready for whoever comes home hungry first.
Let the path give you choices
The beachfront path runs past the building, with only the pathway and dunes between Viscount and the sand. Go south and Broadbeach begins immediately. Its central cafés, restaurants and shops are about a fifteen-minute walk away. Go north and Cavill Avenue is about twenty minutes on foot.
Prams and scooters suit the sealed route, which is lit at night. That makes a lunch outing or a walk with restless kids easy to fit around someone else’s race plans. No one has to collect the car keys every time they want to leave the apartment.
Getting into the race itself is a separate part of the outing. Check the next gate locations and closure map before choosing your route from Cavill Avenue or the tram. Florida Gardens station is 500 metres from Viscount; G:link’s service details and the organiser’s event instructions should be read together.
You can reserve one free parking space with the apartment. The garage clearance is 1.95 m, so check a taller vehicle or roof box before turning up. Once parked, the car can stay put for the local parts of the holiday.
Home for a swim and something to eat
The outdoor pool is heated to 27°C and has a shallow end. It is an easy option for the people who have finished their outing or stayed behind, while the beach gives older kids somewhere else to use their energy when conditions suit.
After the wet 2026 race days, the washing machine and tumble dryer were useful for getting everyone’s clothes ready again. Having two bathrooms helped with the return as well: showers could happen while someone started dinner, instead of the whole family waiting to go back out.
Use the garden BBQ if you want to keep the meal at ground level. The rooftop BBQ has the Pacific in front of it, and your own balcony offers another spot to sit once the children are settled.
One thing to allow for: Viscount is south of the circuit, but race noise can still travel along the beachfront. A silent break calls for another week. For a family happy to mix the motorsport with some beach days, choose the apartment that fits everyone and let each person claim a little of the holiday.
