Three events carry a Gold Coast Christmas: Warner Bros. Movie World's White Christmas after dark, free carols on Surfers Paradise Beach, and the gingerbread village in Broadbeach Mall. All three return every December, and two of them are close enough from Viscount to reach without a car.

## Movie World's White Christmas

White Christmas at Warner Bros. Movie World is a nighttime festive event on select nights each December, ticketed separately from daytime park entry. Main Street is strung with close to a million Christmas lights, artificial snow falls over the crowd, and a Christmas parade runs through the evening alongside festive character shows and Santa meet-and-greets. It's the biggest single spectacle on this list and the one worth building a whole evening around; our [Gold Coast theme parks guide](/experience/blog/gold-coast-theme-parks/index.md) has the logistics for a Movie World day.

## Carols on the Beach, Surfers Paradise

Carols on the Beach is free and returns to Surfers Paradise Beach every December, presented by the City of Gold Coast. It's held right on the sand: a few hours of live carols with headline musical guests, Auslan interpreters on stage, and a fireworks finale over the water. The beach itself starts across First Avenue from every Viscount apartment, and the carols site sits up toward Cavill Avenue, about a 20-minute walk north along the beach or the footpath.

## Christmas in Broadbeach

Christmas in Broadbeach is the City of Gold Coast's festive program for the suburb, built around a gingerbread-village activation in Broadbeach Mall next to the Oasis Shopping Centre. It runs free daily cookie-decorating, craft and storytime sessions through the season, plus a Santa's Post Office for the kids to drop off a letter. The companion event is a free, ticketless carols evening at Kurrawa Park on Old Burleigh Road, with children's activities from mid-afternoon, a stage lineup into the evening, and its own fireworks finale.

This is the one that plays straight to the building. Getting to Broadbeach takes about 15 minutes on foot, all of it along the Oceanway's lit, paved 2 km stretch, with not a single road crossing to navigate with a pram or a toddler on a scooter.

## If you want a night without the kids

SkyPoint runs Christmas in the Clouds each festive season, 230 metres up on the Level 77 observation deck. It's a ticketed function pitched at small groups and workplace teams rather than a walk-up family outing, more a date night or an office Christmas party than something to plan the day around.

## Further afield

Southport's Broadwater Parklands, about 6 km north, usually adds Christmas market stalls to the precinct through December. Worth the drive if you're already heading that way; it's not close enough to call a Viscount highlight.

## Getting around

Florida Gardens tram station is 500 m from the door, 6 minutes on foot, and the fastest way north toward Cavill Avenue or onward to Movie World's transfer points. Heading south, the Oceanway does the job on foot all the way to Broadbeach. Every Viscount apartment is fully self-contained, so a family can do the big nights out and still come home to a proper kitchen and two bathrooms rather than a hotel room. If you're staying through to New Year's Eve as well, our [New Year's Eve in Surfers Paradise guide](/experience/blog/new-years-eve-surfers-paradise/index.md) covers the fireworks on both beaches, and the [Gold Coast events guide](/experience/blog/gold-coast-events-guide/index.md) rounds out what else is on across the year.
